Points finish for Ray in Jerez

Lydd’s Bradley Ray was once again in the points in the final round of the World Superbike Championship in Jerez last weekend.

Jerez played host to the final round of the season and also to Ray’s two year stint with the Moto X team, before he returns to the British Superbike Championship for the 2025 campaign.

In Race 1, on Saturday afternoon over a distance of twenty laps, Brad got away from row seven and immediately moved up into the group fighting for the points and eventually crossed the line seventeenth.

Speaking after race one, Ray said: “Not an easy race. After the Superpole, we made a change to the bike but unfortunately it didn’t bring the desired results and meant that I had less grip as well as less pace.

“The positive is that we now know how to prepare for tomorrow’s races and I’m confident we can take a step, finding more grip which would help us put in a better performance overall.”

On Sunday the final two races of the season got underway in sunny conditions. Ray was on track for the ten-lap Superpole race, running a positive race, the Kent rider was able to make up positions to finish sixteenth

In the afternoon’s Race 2, which rounded out the season, Ray made a good start and maintained a rhythm that saw him finish inside the points zone, in fifteenth place. Continuing his recent run of points finishes.

Giving his thoughts after the weekend, Ray said: “It’s been a complicated weekend, but with the data collected in yesterday’s race we were able to improve the setup of our bike, which allowed us to score points today.

“I’d have liked to fight for the top ten, because I wanted to score a good result for the team. I want to thank Sandro Carusi and the whole team for all the support they’ve given me this year.”
