After weeks of waiting, Tunbridge Wells go to Wembley today and the players want the fans to get behind them and make some noise.
In each of the exclusive series of interviews where Tunbridge Wells allowed KSN unprecedented access to the Vase Final squad, we ended each conversation by asking the squad to send the TWFC fans heading for Wembley this weekend a message…
These then are the messages from the players and management team for YOU!
MANAGER MARTIN LARKIN – “BE NOISY – PLEASE BE NOISY! There is absolutely no point the club selling over 10,000 tickets if you’re sat in your seats not making any noise! We are going to need you without a doubt. We’ll have more fans than they will so there is absolutely no reason to have that many there if you’re not going to make any noise! Get behind the boys please! You have my word that they will give you absolutely everything on the day. We’ll be giving the club everything we possibly can and probably more and we are going to need you! There are going to be times when we’re going to be under pressure, and that’s happened with the Vase this year as our travelling fans have made some noise and that has energised the players big style – SO PLEASE MAKE SOME NOISE AND HELP US BRING THE CUP HOME!”
ASSISTANT MANAGER BRAD SANDEMAN – “Its unfortunate that we’ve had so many games as we wanted you all to see the best of what we can do all the time. Hopefully come Saturday, you’ll all see what we’re about and just how we can play! Enjoy the day – we’re going to, and we’ll be focused on winning so hopefully we’ll come out on top and bring the trophy home for you!”
SKIPPER JASON BOURNE – “Thanks for following us to Wembley – you won’t be disappointed – it’ll be money well spent and we’re going to bring the Trophy back for Tunbridge Wells; we’re going to bring it back for you guys and we’re going to bring it back for us as we’re all the Tunbridge Wells football family and we’re going to pull it off together. Your support has been amazing; everyone behind the scenes you cannot praise them highly enough, because without them it wouldn’t be worth us playing as we’d only have a crowd of ten every week and the club just wouldn’t be there! For all the people who have spent their money, we all want to give something back to you – and that’s the trophy home to Kent!”
ANDY BOYLE – “I cant thank you enough. We’ve seen faces up and down the country – Shildon; Larkhall – these aren’t small or short journeys and our travelling support has been fantastic – incredible – beyond words – and you’ve got us through some of the these games – BUT YOU KNOW THAT! Larkhall 4-3 (3-2 down and win it in Extra Time) same up at Shildon and that’s you driving us on. We all hope that you enjoy your day and we’ll do all we can to make you proud of us!”
MICHAL CZANNER – “Please get behind the team and support us and we’ll do our best no matter what to hopefully be good enough for us to bring the trophy back to Tunbridge Wells.”
JOE FULLER – “Thanks very much for coming to back us – we’ll try our best for everyone and see you at Wembley!”
JACK HARRIS – “Keep coming out in your numbers and bring all your friends and family. It’s going to be a great day – a day that will probably never be repeated – remember it and make the most of it, but also remember why we’re there!”
ANDY IRVINE – “Thanks for your amazing support on this run and for buying your tickets for Wembley and for sharing this memorable day for Tunbridge Wells Football Club. Support all you can – together we can do this!”
ANDY McMATH – “Thanks for your support – you’ve been absolutely incredible all the way along the way. Travelling to Wantage and Binfield – taking 300 fans to Shildon is different class – the whole town and the whole area has got behind us. The way that so many of you helped get the first leg on with your forks was simply incredible and amazing. And that to me shows how much the community has backed us and want us to do well and thankfully we’ve given you all something back and can go one step further and bring you the Trophy back to Tunbridge Wells!”
LEWIS MINGLE – “You just wait and see what happens at Wembley! We’re going to go all the way and bring it home!”
CHRIS OLADOGBA – “Please just keep supporting us as you have done all season. The support that we’ve had has been absolutely superb and you the fans have really been our 12th man it has to be said. This Vase run has been magical and I’m sure that we wouldn’t have got as far as we have without your backing and you are the best and loudest fans that I have ever played in front of in my career. Give us more of the same at Wembley and thank you…”
JON PILBEAM – “Be as loud as you can on the day and thank you so very much for all of the support – it’s got us this far and it has really helped! Its going to be incredible for all us – try to enjoy the day; it’s your day as much as it is ours!”
PERRY SPACKMAN – “All the tight nit fans who come week in week out know exactly how much we appreciate you all every week and that’s one of the reason I jumped into the middle of them when I scored my goal at Shildon. Half of what we do is for you… now let’s finish the job!”
JOSH STANFORD – “Please keep supporting us and doing what you’ve done to inspire us to get where we are! You are our 12th man without a doubt – what we’ve done in the Vase we couldn’t have done without a doubt; its all down to them – especially the long trips to Larkhall and Shildon – seeing them there gave us the extra boost and the fact that our supporters could outnumber the Spennymoor fans six or seven times will have a huge impact on the way we play – please believe and keep the faith!”
SCOTT WHIBLEY – “We’ll win it! Believe – we will win it!”
