Adrian Pennock was proud of his Gillingham side as they battled for a point at Bradford City.
Goals from Josh Wright and Adedeji Oshilaja saw The Gills return from Valley Parade with a precious point that sees them stay 17th in League One.
Having watched on as his side put in another improved performance, Pennock spoke of his pride at seeing Gillingham show some real character:
“It was unbelievable entertainment – I thought we were first class, I really did.”
“We came with a good game plan and we worked hard all week. I am disappointed with the goals but it was a fully deserved result today.”
“I enjoyed everything about it. As soon as we kicked off we played some decent football and carved them open a few times.”
“They are a very good side who will be up there at the end of the season and they have a passionate crowd. It’s a fantastic place to play football with some very good players.”
“We have come here and started very well. We got the ball in good areas and played some good football. We thoroughly deserved the opening goal, but switched off 30 seconds later for their first.”
Pennock has seen his side slowly adapt to his style of playing, operating with wingers and the Head Coach is pleased with how the players and showing signs of improvement:
“I have been pleased with the last three games, because they are what we are all about. I don’t think we are too far away from that first win.”
“There is a lot of belief here. The togetherness is fantastic; not just the starting XI but the whole squad.”
“They wore the shirt with pride today. I’m sure the fans are as proud of them as I am.”
