The appointment of Bob Peeters as Charlton’s head coach on Tuesday evening was not a surprise, but it is reassuring to finally have confirmation.

Peeters is a former Belgian international striker, scoring four goals in his thirteen appearances.

His managerial career has seen him work at Cercle Bruuge, KAA Gent and Waasland-Beveren in Belgium.

The club have not yet released any details about the length of his contract and thus far, there is no mention of Patrick Van Houdt joining the club to assist Peeters.

The Addicks have also confirmed that Alex Dyer has left the club and Dyer has been speaking to the South London Press about the alleged difficulties Chris Powell experienced with Roland Duchatelet.

There are rumours circulating in Barnsley that Chris O’Grady has been in London discussing personal terms with Charlton.
