Payne named in GB Olympic squad

Holcombe’s Ollie Payne has been selected for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games by Great Britain.

Payne, 25, will be competing in his second Games having played in the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics in 2021 in Japan.

Since then, he has amassed 69 international caps – 35 of those for England and 34 for Great Britain.

He was also nominated for the FIH Goalkeeper of the Year award last year and will be hoping to earn a chance at that title again by putting in some good performances before spending the 2024/25 season back at Holcombe Park.

Well done to former Holcombe players Sarah Jones, Miriam Pritchard, Sarah Robertson, Charlotte Watson, David Ames, Phil Roper and Sam Ward who have also all been selected.
