Former Gillingham striker Stefan Payne has left Aldershot Town for former club Sutton United just a month after leaving Priestfield.
The 20 year old left Priestfield at the end of January after the striker and the club agreed he could leave by mutual consent.
Payne then joined fellow League Two side Aldershot Town and made his debut for the Shots just days later in their 2-1 win at AFC Wimbledon.
That has been his only appearance for the club and Aldershot manager Dean Holdsworth has allowed him to move back to former club Sutton United on loan until the end of the season, telling the club’s official website:
“Stefan needs to play regular first team football at this stage of his career for his own benefit and development. This move is right for Stefan and I would not stand in his way. I wish him well.”
Payne made 37 appearances for Gillingham since signing on a free transfer in the summer of 2010, scoring two goals in the process, but the majority of those came as a substitute and now he will look to rebuild his football career back where it started at Sutton United.
