With the 2023 cricket season set to begin next week, Kent Cricket has confirmed an exciting ticket offer to give the Kent community an opportunity to see their cricket team in County Championship action during the upcoming Bank Holiday weekend.
Titled ‘Pay what you can’, supporters will be able to purchase tickets for as little as £1 for the Good Friday Bank Holiday, 7 April when Kent face Northamptonshire on Day Two of their LV= Insurance County Championship match at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence in Canterbury.
Whether you are a keen follower of cricket or never been to a cricket match before & are looking for something to do with the family over the Bank Holiday weekend, everyone is welcome.
The Kent Cricket Community Team will be running cricket activities inside the ground, free of charge, for all juniors (children under the age of 14). Booking is not required, and activities will run from 11:30-14:30.
Old Dover Road Park & Ride is an easy parking option & is only a 10-minute walk from the ground. In the ground, there will be a range of bars & food outlets open.
Kent Cricket CEO, Simon Storey, said: “We are all excited about the start of the new season, and there’s been lots of hard work both on the field and behind the scenes throughout the Winter.
“We are keen to remind everyone that a day at the cricket is a great day out whether you are young family, a grandparent wanting to spend some time with the grandchildren or a group of friends looking for something to do on Bank Holiday Good Friday.
“We understand that price can play an important role in planning activities, and at a time of increased costs, we want to provide everyone with an affordable day out.
“We have an excellent relationship with Gillingham FC, and they told us about the success of a similar initiative they ran earlier in the football season, in bringing fans, old and new back to the Gills.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming as many people as possible to The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence next Friday.”
