Jack Paxman, twin brother of Folkestone Invicta’s exciting young close season signing Alfie, has joined their arch rivals Margate this week.
And with the two Kent clubs due to meet at Christmas time, Folkestone boss Neil Cugley said: “That should add even more interest to our games against The ‘Gate this coming season!”
Jack, not to be confused with the Maidstone United player of the same name, was, like his twin, Alfie, formerly with Dover Athletic where they both worked under new joint ‘Gate bosses Mike Sandmann and Steve Brown who took over at Hartsdown Park at the end of last season.
We haven’t asked yet which twin is the elder, but Jack has signed from South Eastern Counties club Deal Town, while Alfie joined Invicta from their this weekend’s opponents, Ramsgate of the new Bostik South East League.
The lads are both from the Thanet area which may well add to the crowd if both are in contention for a place in two of the biggest current Kent derbies at this level over both the New Year and Easter Holiday periods.
