Kent’s Un-Limited Motorsport have announced the signing of young Scottish driver Dexter Patterson for the 2025 British Touring Car Championship season.

Dexter, a former Karting World Champion (2017), brings a wealth of racing experience to Un-Limited Motorsport from a range of different championships.

Beyond karting, he has competed in various single-seater championships, including the Italian F4 Championship and the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship.

In 2022 and 2023, Patterson competed in the BTCC, with him competing in the front-wheel-drive Cupra Leon in the latter season. After a year away from the BTCC, Patterson is eager to get back behind the wheel and compete at the highest level of British motorsport.

Patterson will team up with Max Hall, who will be making his BTCC debut in 2024. Hall secured the Rookie Championship and an impressive 2nd overall in the Mini JCW Championship.

Un-Limited Motorsport is coming off a successful debut season in the BTCC, rounding off the debut season with a P7 finish at Brands Hatch. The team is committed to building on this momentum in 2025 with an expanded operation.

Speaking about returning to the BTCC Patterson said: “I’m excited to be back on the BTCC grid after spending a year racing GT4 in Europe. Having already competed in two BTCC seasons, I have a strong understanding of the championship and the driving style required to succeed.

“My main goal for 2025 is to extract the maximum performance from every event on the calendar, with a particular focus on the Jack Sears Championship. Of course, a few podiums along the way would be fantastic, too.

“It feels great to be returning to BTCC, as there’s definitely unfinished business. With every season, I gain more experience, which will only help in such a close and competitive championship. My goal now is to quickly adapt the car to suit my driving style and continue pushing it forward to get the most out of it.”

Equally delighted to have Patterson join the expanded team in 2025 was Bob Sharpless, Team Owner: “We’re incredibly excited to welcome Dexter to Un-Limited Motorsport for the 2025 season. We had the chance to do some testing with him at the end of 2024, and his pace in the Cupra was undeniable.

“Having raced with the car before, he was immediately comfortable and confident, which is a huge asset for the team. With Dexter and Max as teammates, we’re in a strong position to make a serious push for the Jack Sears and Independent Championships.

“Dexter’s a former World Karting Champion, and he’s got unfinished business with the Jack Sears Trophy, he’s hungry to prove himself. Together, we’re aiming to climb higher in the standings and deliver some exciting results in 2025.
