Head Coach Kevin Parrish wants his Invicta Dynamos side to extend their unbeaten run when they face Solent Devils on Sunday night.
The Gillingham based ice hockey side are unbeaten in their last three games and have lost just the once in their last eight outings.
A morale boosting 3-3 draw at league leaders Chelmsford Chieftains on Sunday night was on the back of a comfortable 6-1 win over Cardiff NIHL Devils the night before.
With a renewed sense of confidence flowing through the Dynamos, they face another tough test this weekend when the Solent Devils come to Silver Blades, but it’s a game that Parrish is determined to win if his side are to challenge for honours come the end of the season:
“We’ve got to pick up another two points, it’s as simple as that.”
“We have shown in the past few weeks that we are more than a match for anyone in this league and that we can be right up there come the end of the season.”
“It’s all about consistency though and we must make sure we don’t take the Devils lightly as we’ve come unstuck like that already this year.”
“On our day, we can play some really good hockey and we’re starting to gel as a team and show some of the promise this young side has got in abundance.”
Both Bailey Wootton and Joshua Condren took knocks at Chelmsford and must be considered doubts for this weekend with captain Nicky Lewis having missed the past few weeks with a hamsting injury.
Adam McNicoll is nearing a return after sustaining a knee injury earlier in the season, but this weekend will come too soon for the Scottish star.
Starting the weekend in fourth place in the league, the Dynamos are edging closer to the top with games in hand and another win this Sunday will go a long way to setting up a strong second half to the season.
Face off at Gillingham is 5:15pm on Sunday with tickets available to buy on the door.
