Head Coach Kevin Parrish wants his Invicta Dynamos side to carry on their great start to the season with victory against Streatham Redskins tonight.
Victories against Oxford City Stars and Bracknell Hornets last weekend saw the Dynamos get off to the perfect start to the new season and they ended it top of the NIHL South league.
Both games ended up being a little too close for comfort, winning 9-7 and 7-6, but Parrish believes that gives his side something to work on:
“We made it hard for ourselves at times, but it’s early days and that gives us things to work on during training and our fitness levels will get better too.”
“At Bracknell we sat back and opened the game up a bit too much in the final period, but thanks to Callum Fowler and Juraj Huska we got the two points.”
This weekend the Dynamos face what looks like on paper as being one of the toughest two games of the season as they face Streatham Redskins at home in the NIHL Southern Cup before heading to Chelmsford on Sunday night to face the Redskins in their latest league encounter.
Having lost to the Redskins in the play-offs last season, Parrish has dismissed talk of revenge from the Dynamos and just wants his side to go out and deliver another win:
“It’s not about payback for us, we just need to treat it like any other game and get another win. We’ve got a new team and there’s no point looking back at what’s gone before.”
“I want us to finish top of the group in the Cup, so we need to make sure we pick up wins.”
Once again the Dynamos will be without the services of brothers Billy and Charlie Phillips with the pair suspended, but Parrish’s side will have Grant Baxter back on the roster once again after rejoining for another year.
Face off at Silver Blades Ice Bowl in Gillingham is 5:15pm on Saturday night with ticket details available at www.invictadynamos.co.uk
