As weekends go, the Invicta Dynamos have a tough one, but one that Kevin Parrish believes they can get two wins out of.
Looking to start another unbeaten run after their previous one was broken after thirteen games, the Dynamos head to the Isle of Wight on Saturday night to take on the Wightlink Raiders in the league before returning to Gillingham to face the Streatham Redskins in the cup on Sunday evening.
Having beaten the Raiders 7-1 away from home already this season, the Dynamos will jump on the ferry sound in the knowledge that they can beat their opponents and will be keen to put more points between the two sides that currently occupy the second and third places in the NIHL South.
The Dynamos start the weekend level on points with league leaders Chelmsford Chieftains and will be keen to put in another fine performance after thrashing Milton Keynes Thunder 15-5 on Sunday night.
With new import Marek Nahlik settling into the side and both Andy Smith and Callum Fowler back on the roster, Head Coach, Kevin Parrish is hoping his side keep their league and cup runs going with a double win this weekend:
“It would have been nice to have been looking at wins sixteen and seventeen if we’d have made it win numbers fourteen and fifteen, but it wasn’t meant to be.”
“We enjoyed ourselves whilst we were on that run, but now we start again.”
“We’ve been to the Isle of Wight and won, so why can’t we do that again?”
“We tied against Streatham and probably didn’t have the best of games, but we are at home, so why can’t we grab four points this weekend. The boys are hungry for it and want it.”
Meanwhile, Parrish told KSN how he is looking at bringing in a few more faces to his squad to help see the side through the busy Christmas period coming up:
“I’m trying to get more players, but the problem is you can’t just go to Tesco and pick up ice hockey players. We’re the other side of the M25 and players have got to go past other rinks to get to this rink.”
“I’m not going to get players just to fill my roster, I want players that I know are going to come in and do a job.”
Face off at the Silver Blades Ice Bowl in Gillingham is 5:15pm on Sunday evening with more information available at www.invictadynamos.co.uk
