Head Coach Kevin Parrish wants his Invicta Dynamos side to focus on two points rather than revenge when Cardiff NIHL Devils come to Gillingham on Saturday night.
The two sides go head to head at the Silver Blades Ice Bowl in Gillingham in the NIHL South, just three weeks after they met in Wales in a physical game that left Dynamos forward Andy Smith sidelined with concussion.
Smith was subject of a late hit by Jack Randall, hit from behind and subsequently missed the rest of the game and the following weekend for the Dynamos.
The incident led to Arran Strawson coming to blows with Randall with the pair being ejected for the rest of the game, whilst both Anthony Leone and Billy Phillips picked up ten minute penalties.
It was the Dynamos that breezed to a 9-3 victory that weekend and Parrish is hoping for more of the same on Saturday night and wants his team to be physical, but ensure they get the win in the bag:
“We all know that hit was a bad one and shouldn’t be seen in this sport.”
“Our main aim is the two points. We need to concentrate mainly on that and let other issues take care of themselves.”
Parrish has been working hard for the past few weeks to bring in another import after being let down by Finnish defenceman Joonas Liimatainen, but will likely send his Dynamos onto the ice with the team that has served him so well in recent weeks.
The Dynamos Head Coach is believed to be close to securing a deal with an import and an announcement could be made in the coming days.
As Smith closes in on 1,000 points for the side and the Dynamos sitting third in the league, this weekend could prove pivotal for the Kent side and a decent crowd is expected in Gillingham on Saturday night with face off at 5:15pm.
