Head Coach Kevin Parrish can’t wait for Saturday as the Invicta Dynamos get their new season underway against the Oxford City Stars.
The Medway based side will kick off the new campaign at home with fans set to flock to the Silver Blades Ice Bowl in their numbers.
A number of new faces will be on show as the Dynamos look to kick off the new season with a convincing win against the newly promoted Oxford City Stars.
Having missed out on the NIHL South title last year, Parrish has strengthened his roster for the next seven months, whilst keeping experienced players like Andy Smith and Callum Fowler.
Canadian Greg Chambers fills the second import slot alongside Juraj Huska with Steve Osman, Elliott Dewey and Steve Nightingale just a few of the new faces added to the roster.
Both Adam McNicoll and Harrison Lillis return for second spells at the Dynamos with Chris Douglas, Arran Strawson and Nicky Lewis just a few of the familiar names to secure another season in Gillingham.
Meanwhile, this weekend will see both Billy Phillips and his brother Charlie watch on from the sidelines as the pair serve their bans, with Parrish having told KSN this week that he is still looking to add to his roster.
With a big season ahead and the Dynamos to face strong competition in the English Challenge Cup, Parrish can’t wait to get the season underway:
“It’s been a long summer and a tough summer this season. There’s lots of things to organise behind the scenes and get the squad together.”
“There’s been a few players leaving on the back end of last year and other guys coming back, but it’s been a tough recruiting summer this year.”
“We have lost a couple of the D men that we didn’t want to lose, but we have strengthened in that area and we will be competitive this season.”
Face off on Saturday is 5:15pm with fans encouraged to get to the rink early and to listen to the exclusive interviews with Kevin Parrish, Callum Fowler, Greg Chambers and Steve Osman, click here:
