Dan Parker is looking to the future and hoping that he can get back doing what he loves this season, racing.

Last season was frustrating for Dan as he couldn’t realise his dream and race regularly, but in 2014 he is hoping that he can change that.

Today he brings Kent Sports News exclusively up-to-date with what he has been doing in the winter break and more.

He said: “I have now signed with some new management and we are looking into getting British GT’s. Even though British Touring Cars is the pinnacle of British motor racing it just isn’t viable at the moment so I am looking at the GT route.

“The GT scene is really starting to pick up again like it was ten to fifteen years ago. It is onwards and upwards now. We are looking at GT4 and racing in a Ginetta G55, I know the season is only a few months away but I have a massive hit list of companies, hopefully someone will look to get involved.

“If I can’t get into the GT’s then I will look to do some more Britcar races with the same team as they are running a TOCA package with Ginetta’s and GT4’s that run alongside the British GT.

“The prices do drop the lower the series, it is £65,000 for GT4 at the moment, I need to get out racing and testing, as other teams are already testing and you don’t want to be left at the bottom end having not had much testing time.

“There is also the option of the G40’s which is the smaller Ginetta, that is around £25,000 for the season that is with fuel, tyres, and seven Friday test days. You get to race at Spa as well if you are in Ginetta’s. I have raced it on my Xbox but now I just want to be able to go and race on the track for real now.”

Away from the racing Dan has been keeping himself fit and also spending time running his own fitness classes for people.

He added: “I do my boot camp sessions in the week and I get to teach fitness sessions to my clients and then I have a few track days that I am instructing on this year as well.

“You never know who you are going to be sat next to. I have just to be professional and show them the lines and you never know what will come from that.”
