As expected, Kevin Foley linked up with former Addicks boss, Russell Slade, at Coventry on Friday.
Derby have joined Sheffield Wednesday in the race to sign Morgan Fox. It seemed the Owls were certain to land Fox, but the Derby Telegraph has reported that the Rams are prepared to match Wednesday’s bid.
The Addicks moved quickly to fill the likely void by signing West Ham left-back, Lewis Page.
20-year-old Page has appeared for the Hammers in the Europa League, and has spent time on loan with Cambridge.
He spent the first half of the season on loan at Coventry where he made 26 appearances. Page has signed a contract that runs until the summer of 2019.
Karl Robinson gave this insight into Page’s abilities following his signing:
“We’re very pleased to bring in Lewis. I got a chance to see him during his loan spell at Coventry and he’s a left back that fits in well with our system. He’s quick, likes to get forward and is a good crosser, I really like that in a full-back.”
“We’re building a squad here to get into that top six and Lewis will be an important part of what we are trying to do.”
The player had this to say:
“I’m delighted to be here. I know how big the club is and I know we are pushing for promotion and trying to get up there – I’d like to be a part of that.
“I like the manager, I think he’s good with young players, and I just can’t wait to get started.”
