Oulton Park next for Nevill
Oulton Park next for Nevill

With three rounds left in the Rowe Britcar Trophy championship, Kent racing driver Alex Nevill will make the long journey north to Oulton Park in Cheshire this weekend keen to continue his winning ways and make further progress in the Clio Cup class standings.

Last time out at Silverstone, Alex and his new team mate, Matthew Hyde, were able to claim the second win of the season for the number 12 Dragon Sport Clio and in doing so climbed up to second place in the class standings.

The duo now sit 39 points adrift from the class and overall championship
leaders (High Row Motorsport), with 189 points still to be claimed over the remaining three rounds.

“Realistically the championship is High Row’s to lose right now with the advantage they have”, Alex explained.

“But the nature of the points system in the Britcar Trophy means that their lead could disappear very quickly if they make any mistakes or have any issues. While we’d love to be in the lead, we’re in a nice position in that there’s no pressure on us and we just need to keep putting in our best efforts and see what happens.

“While I haven’t competed at Oulton Park in 4 years, it’s been a track that I’ve really enjoyed in the past and I know that Matt has too. It’s narrow, bumpy and it requires a lot of commitment and precision from a driver. It’s a challenge that I’m sure we’ll both enjoy!”

Round 5 of the Britcar Trophy will feature two 50 minute races on Saturday at 11:30am & 16:45pm. Both races will be live streamed on the British Automobile Racing Club’s YouTube channel.
