It is a case of one in and one out for Gillingham and manager Mark Bonner today. Ashley Nadesan has departed on loan, with Jacob Wakeling arriving on loan.
Wakeling has joined the Gills on a season long loan from Peterborough United where he has played eight times so far since joining them from Swindon for an undisclosed fee in September 2023.
The striker scored eight goals in 47 games whilst at the County Ground. He will be looking to get some game time and fitness as he joins the Gills as cover for Josh Andrews and Elliott Nevitt who have picked up injuries during pre-season.
Nadesan on the other hand has departed on loan to National League side Sutton United for the season.
It is fair to say that it hasn’t really worked out for Nadesan since he joined the Gills in July 2023 from Crawley Town. He started the season pretty well and scored a couple of goals, but an injury and loss of form saw him drop out of the squad towards the end of the season.
