Finn O’Mara has signed a new one-year deal which will keep the defender with the Gills until the summer of 2019.
The centre-back, who made his professional debut in the 1-0 defeat against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park in September, will remain at Priestfield Stadium for a further year with the club deciding to take up an option on his contract.
Finn made four appearances for Gillingham last season, most notably at home in the live televised fixture against Portsmouth which the Gills lost 1-0.
The youngster also spent time on loan with Folkestone, playing in a number of games and receiving high recognition for his displays before returning to ME7.
On agreeing his new deal Finn said: “I’m pleased to have got it done. I’ve worked hard to get that second year; last season could have been better but I need to strive forward now.
“Getting into the first team will be tough but it’s a fresh start for everybody and you never know what might happen. I’m looking forward to it.”
