British Olympic hero Jason Kenny will swap two wheels for four at Brands Hatch this weekend, when he takes to the wheel of a Radical SR3 RSX in the Radical Challenge Championship on the full Grand Prix circuit.
Kenny won a trio of Gold Medals in the Rio velodrome last week to match former Team GB colleague Sir Chris Hoy’s record of six Golds and one Silver. Hoy also raced Radical sports prototypes when he switched to motor racing three years ago, and earlier this year Chris made his debut in the Le Mans 24 Hour race.

The Radical Challenge Championship, is administered by Motorsport Vision Racing (MSVR), Brands Hatch owner MSV’s race-organising division, and comprises a series of sprint and endurance races. There are two 20-minute Radical Challenge races on Saturday and a 40-minute race with a pitstop on Sunday. The races are part of the supporting programme for the Lotus Festival, which includes Formula 1 car demonstrations and Lotus-themed racing and displays.

This weekend’s event is the latest instalment of Jason’s foray into motor racing. He began racing in the Ginetta GT5 Challenge after his London 2012 success and has since made appearances in the Radical European Masters in 2014.

The Brands Hatch appearance this weekend will be the first of two for Kenny this summer. He’ll be returning on 10/11 September to take part in the Revolve24 cycling challenge event.
