Sittingbourne’s Alex Olsen has been announced as remaining with Smiths Racing BMW in the 2020 Bennetts British Superbike Championship.

He will continue to line-up as Peter Hickman’s teammate who remains with the team for a fourth consecutive season.

Olsen returns after joining the team for the final rounds of the season, battling into a best result of ninth place at Oulton Park. Now he is looking ahead to his first full campaign in 2020 after stepping up from the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship.

Speaking about being given the chance to undertake a full season in the British Superbike Championship, Olsen said: “I am really happy to be staying with Smiths Racing BMW next year.

“I feel like I have learnt a lot already since first joining the team and I think we can build on that going into next season.

“I would like to thank Alan and Rebecca from Smiths Racing BMW for giving me this opportunity and also all my personal sponsors for their continued support for making this happen.”
