For 21-year-old Ollie it is another step towards realising his ambition to be selected for the Paralympic Games in Tokyo in 2020 and to take part in European competitions.

Ollie won his place in the national development training squad after a series of outstanding performance for Canterbury.

This year he was awarded three out of a possible four ‘Best of Class’ trophies while playing for Canterbury. In 2015 he was named as Most Valuable Player at the Wheelchair Rugby Nationals and also collected the team Shield trophy.

Canterbury Rugby Club’s Acting chairman, Giles Hilton, said: “Ollie has been an important member of our Wheelchair Rugby team and has helped us to achieve National status is a very short space of time.”

“His progress has been brilliant and he has underlined our commitment to bringing rugby in all its form to the local community.”
