Aslan Odev has resigned as manager of Sittingbourne.
Odev who replaced Nick Davis in the Woodstock hot seat, has been under pressure and after a run of a solitary win in ten games, the club has acted and following a board meeting on Monday, there was a further meeting between Chairman Maurice Dunk, Secretary John Pitts and the manager at which the club “very reluctantly” accepted Odev’s resignation. Assistant Manager Ian Varley has also left the club today.
Mr Pitts told KSN, “Aslan is a very good coach and has been a pleasure to work with. He’s worked tireless to achieve results and the club would like to wish him well for the future!”
Mr Pitts hinted that there would be an announcement soon as the club hoped to have a new man in charge before their next game which is ironically on Saturday week (January 19th) when the Brickies face former boss Davis and his new Ramsgate side.
In other Sittingbourne news, Mr Pitts confirmed that striker Kane Rowland has rejoined the Brickies from Folkestone Invicta initially on a month’s loan.
