Former Gillingham loan striker Frank Nouble has agreed a two year deal with Wolves after being released by West Ham United.

The 20-year-old striker dropped into the free agent pool this summer after seeing his contract at Upton Park expire and had been tipped to return to Priestfield, but has opted to move to the Championship club.

Having spent much of the last two years out on loan, he will be looking forward to pushing for a regular role at Wolves and could line up alongside former Gillingham winger Matt Jarvis.

New Wolves boss Stale Solbakken is delighted to have brought the youngster on board, with the club readying themselves for a promotion push in the Championship.

“Frank is a player that our scouts have been watching,” he told the club’s official website.

“We think he has qualities that we can develop, and with his physical strength and power I feel that he can help us.

“He should be a useful acquisition to the squad and it is a good opportunity for him to come to a stable club and work hard.

“I think there is a win-win situation for both the club and the player. He is a young guy and he can add to his potential every week.”

Nouble is a product of the academy system at Chelsea, but snubbed the offer of professional terms at Stamford Bridge to pen a five-year contract with West Ham in 2009.

He struggled to make an impact with the Hammers, though, and was allowed to take in loan spells at West Bromwich Albion, Swindon Town, Swansea City, Barnsley, Charlton Athletic and Gillingham.
