West Ham United striker Frank Nouble is hoping to return to Gillingham in the New Year after the end of his loan spell.
Nouble has spent the past three months with the Gills and scored five goals in 14 appearances for Andy Hessenthaler’s side.
He played the last game of his loan stint on Saturday in the 4-1 win over Bristol Rovers and has now returned to West Ham for the festive period.
However, the 20-year-old is keen to return to Priestfield when the January transfer window opens, if Hessenthaler wants to re-sign him.
Nouble said: “If Gillingham make the call in January and West Ham agree I’m sure I’ll be back here.”
Nouble could feature for West Ham’s reserve side when they take on their Colchester United counterparts at Park Drive on Monday night with kick off at 7pm.
With Jo Kuffour’s loan spell also set to end and the striker set to return to Bristol Rovers in just over a weeks time, Hessenthaler will be looking at all his options in the coming weeks with Stefan Payne and Dennis Oli likely to be given a chance if The Gills manager can’t bring someone in.
