Former Arsenal and Aston Villa keeper, Stuart Taylor, spent two weeks training with Charlton but could not agree terms.

Ex Liverpool custodian, Brad Jones, spent last week with the Addicks but signed a 12-month deal with Bradford on Monday. Charlton were unwilling to offer that length of deal, and will now have to look elsewhere for a third string keeper.

Charlton will visit a Nottingham Forest side going for a quick-fire double on Tuesday. Forest beat Rotherham 2-1 at the City Ground on Saturday, and will be hoping for another three points from their clash with the Addicks.

Guy Luzon was happy with his team’s performance at Derby and must decide whether to rotate his squad.

With a small pool of players to call on, the head coach may decide to make a change or two to keep the team fresh.

Nick Pope is sure to start in goal but Chris Solly could give way to Regan Charles-Cook, and Naby Sarr will be pressing for a central defensive berth.

El-Hadji Ba will be in contention with Jordan Cousins and Ahmed Kashi for the two central midfield slots, and Zakarya Bergdich could come in for Cristian Ceballos on the left.

Simon Makienok and Tony Watt look set to continue up front.

Charlton could line-up something like this:

Pope; Charles-Cook, Bauer, Diarra, Fox; Gudmundsson, Cousins, Ba, Bergdich; Watt, Makienok.

Subs: Mitov, Sarr, Kashi, Jackson, Ceballos, Ahearne-Grant, Ghoochannejhad.

The referee will be Darren Drysdale from Cambridgeshire.

The Addicks have made a decent start to the season and will be hopeful of taking something from this game.
