Nottingham is famed for its nightlife but Bob Peeters’ squad will be safely tucked up in their hotel beds on Friday night, as they concentrate on returning to winning ways.
Charlton and Forest were the two teams who remained unbeaten the longest in the Championship this season, but both have stuttered of recent times.
Forest have won just one of their last five home games, beating Norwich 2-1 in their last fixture at the City Ground.
Prior to that, they had drawn with Brighton and Ipswich, followed by successive 1-3 reverses at the hands of Blackburn and Brentford.
Scoring goals has not been a problem for Stuart Pearce’s side but they do not have the most resilient of defences.
Britt Assombalonga has been prolific since his summer switch from Peterborough but will miss this game through suspension.
Flying winger, Michail Antonio, could be the man to cause the Addicks most problems.
Peeters has a few injury concerns, Stephen Henderson is still some way from being ready for a return, Rhoys Wiggins is a long term absentee, Yoni Buyens is recovering from a hamstring problem and may not be risked, Franck Moussa’s knee will again rule him out and Igor Vetokele’s calf and Achilles problems mean he will be less than 100% fit.
Nick Pope will continue in goal with Neil Etheridge on the bench. Despite his public criticism of Tal Ben Haim, Peeters is likely to field an unchanged back-four, with Chris Solly, Andre Bikey and Morgan Fox joining Ben Haim in shielding Pope.
Francis Coquelin is a classy player and having him available will allow Peeters to not have to rush Buyens back too soon.
Johnnie Jackson and Coquelin will be the central duo if Buyens is again ruled out, with Johann Gudmundsson and Jordan Cousins completing the midfield quartet.
Callum Harriott is likely to play just behind Igor Vetokele up front.
Charlton could start with this team:
Pope; Solly, Ben Haim, Bikey, Fox; Gudmundsson, Coquelin, Jackson, Cousins; Harriott, Vetokele.
Subs: Etheridge, Gomez, Onyewu, Wilson, Bulot, Tucudean, Ahearne-Grant.
Kevin Wright from Mersyside will be the referee.
If the Addicks can contain Antonio, it would be no surprise if they recorded another draw.
