One of the most iconic races in the County will celebrate its 30th anniversary on Sunday 23rd June when 600 runners will steel themselves for the challenge of the North Downs Run.
Since its inception in 1984, the multi terrain event has always been a favourite of those who fancy a different type of challenge beyond that of the roads. With its beautiful scenery and the undulating hills, many of the runners will spare little time for the breathtaking views across the North Kent countryside around Cuxton and Luddesdown.
Now in the safe hands of local club Istead and Ifield Harriers, the 30km course is renowned as one of the stiffest tests on the calendar and regularly features amongst the list of events that athletes choose as the highlight of the year.
The race begins at the Cascades Leisure, Thong Lane in Gravesend with a 10.30am start. At the time of writing there were just a few places left before the entry list closed.
Entry fee is £21 for Club Affiliated athletes and £23 for those unattached with a £2 Discount for OAP & Full time Students. No entries will be accepted on the day.
Postal entries have now closed, to enter online visit the Istead and Ifield Harriers website at http://www.isteadandifield.org.uk
There will also be a children’s 1 km fun run held within the grounds of the Cascades Leisure Centre, with entries accepted on the day.
