Ricky Shakes 20th minute goal gave Ebbsfleet United all three points at Newport County on Saturday afternoon.

Liam Daish’s side have been on a good run of late and the win at the weekend has seen them climb to 15th place in the Conference Premier league.

There were great wins for Dover Athletic, Dartford, Tonbridge Angels and Welling United in the Conference South whilst Bromley were narrowly beaten at Boreham Wood.

Former Gillingham winger Barry Cogan was the hero for Dover as they scored late on in their game at The Crabble to secure all three points against a determined Weston-Super-Mare side.

Another couple of former Gillingham players were on target for Dartford as they came from behind to beat Salisbury City. Jon Wallis and Jacob Erskine were the Darts stars as they kept up their push on the top of the league.

Tonbridge Angels twice came from behind to win at home to Thurrock with Danny Walder’s penalty and late strikes from Scott Kinch and Michael Boateng scoring for Tommy Warrilow’s side.
