All of Kent’s sides return to league action this weekend after a weekend of some cup fixtures last week.
Following their 3-0 Trophy replay loss in the week, Maidstone United make the short trip to Bromley this weekend. Jay Saunders’ squad were forced into a long trip to Gateshead on Tuesday night and will be hoping not to get dragged down into the relegation fight before the end of the season. On the other hand, Bromley are fighting to remain in the playoff places. They currently occupy 7th in the table but could slide out if they drop points on Saturday.
Ebbsfleet United are also looking to end a bad run of form. The Fleet haven’t scored in their last four games and haven’t won at Stonebridge Road since Boxing Day. This weekend they welcome Solihull Moors to North Kent – a side who haven’t lost in the league since the same date.
Dover Athletic are another local side hoping to remain in the playoff places come the end of the season. The Whites are one place above Bromley and could also fall out of the top seven places if they drop points. They’ll be looking to pick up three points at home in a 6th vs 5th clash against Sutton United.
Dartford are one of the sides in the National League South looking to reach the top level of non-league this season. They have had an impressive season so far and currently sit top of the table with a three point gap between them and second placed Hampton and Richmond. They face a tough fixture this weekend when Chelmsford City travel across the Thames to Princes Park.
Also in the National League South are Welling United who are still looking to keep the pressure on the top seven. They host relegation threatened Gloucester City on Saturday knowing a win could send them into ninth position.
There is also a tight race for promotion in the Bostik Premier with two of the county’s sides involved in the fight for National League South football next season. Just four points separate Margate and Folkestone Invicta with the Thanet side one place above Invicta in third. The Gate will be travelling to mid-table Brightlingsea Regent this Saturday whilst Folkestone are also on the road at 21st placed Worthing.
Tonbridge Angels are experiencing a season of mid table mediocracy this season, but they can still help their fellow Kent clubs when they welcome playoff chasing Staines Town to Longmead.
The promotion race in the Bostik South is arguably one of the best in non-league at the moment. Coming into this weekend Lewes sit two points ahead of Cray Wanderers with both sides playing on Saturday. The North Kent side make the trip across the county to face Ramsgate whilst the two sides on either side of them face off.
Also this weekend, Thamesmead Town are the side making the away trip go Guernsey for the early kick off, Hythe Town host Shoreham looking to keep at the heels of the sides in the playoff places and Sittingbourne are also at home to Walton Casuals.
Despite a tough start to the season, Ashford United are now pretty much safe from relegation. They travel to the south coast on Saturday to host Hastings and Faversham Town are also on the road at East Grinstead Town.
The final two games of the weekend in the top four levels come from Herne Bay and Phoenix Sports, who host South Park and Whyteleafe respectively.
