There’s another full weekend of fixtures for Kent’s sides this weekend with promotion and relegation battles happening throughout the non-league pyramid.
In the National League, three of the county’s four top tier teams are fighting for the play-off positions with Dover Athletic currently leading the charge. Chris Kinnear’s side occupy the league’s seventh spot and will look to cement their spot in the playoff places on Saturday when they travel to Boreham Wood.
Bromley only sit one point outside the top seven and could go as high as fifth with three points at the weekend. The Ravens make the long trip along the south coast on Saturday to play struggling Torquay United.
The final of the three teams who could be pushing for a playoff spot towards the end of the season are Ebbsfleet United. The North Kent side will be hoping to put their shock FA Trophy defeat behind them this weekend when they take to the road in the direction of Aldershot. Daryl McMahon will be hoping his side are able to get revenge after the Shots’ 2-0 win at Stonebridge Road earlier in the season.
Maidstone United are also in action this weekend after a hard fought Kent Senior Cup win against Gillingham in midweek. The Stones only sit seven points away from the playoff aces and will look at this weekend’s home game against Eastleigh as a way to pick up another three points.
Looking for promotion to the top tier of non-league are Dartford who currently sit top of the National League South. This weekend they make the trip to Chippenham Town knowing a in could potentially give them a five point lead at the top of the table.
The only other Kent side in the second tier also face an away trip this weekend. Welling United travel to Dorset to face relegation threatened Poole Town as they hope to continue putting pressure on the play-off places.
Out of the three Bostik Premier matches on Tuesday night, two of them were won by local sides. Surprise story Folkestone Invicta won away at Lowestoft and return to the coast this weekend when they host Lowestoft Town. Meanwhile the other victorious side, Tonbridge Angels, need to make the trip to Leiston.
Margate were also in midweek action, but failed to pick up a win, instead being forced to settle with a 0-0 draw. They’ll look to put that behind them this weekend when Tooting and Mitcham are welcomed to Thanet.
Another surprise season has come from Cray Wanderers in the Bostik South. They went top of the table on Wednesday night with an emphatic 9-1 win over Ashford United and will be looking to continue their good form when they host second placed Lewes.
There was also a big midweek win for Thamesmead Town, who dispatched of Guernsey 5-0 on Wednesday night. They remain at home this weekend and look forward to entertaining Hastings United.
Elsewhere in the league there are a number of all-Kent fixtures when VCD Athletic host Sittingbourne, Hythe Town make the short trip to Homelands to face Ashford United and Faversham Town welcome Phoenix Sports to the Shepherd Neame Stadium.
Also in the fourth tier of non-league, Ramsgate travel to Walton Casuals and Herne Bay make the trip to Horsham.
