Non League Monday Night Round Up

There was a great victory for Dartford on Monday night as they kept the pressure on league leaders Woking in the Conference South.

A hat-trick from Danny Harris (43, 53, 81) helped Dartford romp to a 4-1 victory over Basingstoke Town to close the gap at the top of the Blue Square Bet South standings.

The two sides looked to be heading into the break at Princes Park level pegging, but Harris drew first-blood for the Darts shortly before the break and added a second eight minutes after the restart.

Stuart Lake (56) managed to pull a goal back for The Dragons just a few moments later, but Tony Garrod (78) restored the home side’s two-goal cushion before Harris rounded off a fine personal performance nine minutes from time.

Staines Town did their relegation concerns a world of good as they shocked high flyers Welling United 4-2 at Wheatsheaf Park.

The Swans stormed into the lead through Will Antwi (8) before Richard Butler (45) added a second on the stroke of half-time.

The Wings, firm play-off favourites, came out stronger in the second period, although Mark Nwokeji (76) fired home eitherside of a Ryan Flack (72, 78) brace to make it 3-2 to the hosts, and Adam Everitt (87) wrapped up the points three minutes from time.

A last gasp goal from Frannie Collin (89) earned Tonbridge Angels a point as they scraped a 1-1 draw against Boreham Wood at Longmead Stadium.

Wood took the lead early on through David Bryant (9), but they were unable to add to their tally for the rest of the encounter, allowing Collin the chance to pop up with a timely equaliser.

Monday’s Blue Square Bet South results:

Dartford 4-1 Basingstoke Town

Staines Town 4-2 Welling United

Tonbridge Angels 1-1 Boreham Wood
