Ebbsfleet United’s hopes of avoiding the drop took a huge dent when they lost 3-1 at Braintree Town on Easter Monday.
Liam Enver-Marum’s equaliser looked to have got Fleet back in it after the home side went in front through Luke Daley, but Braintree were ahead once again just before the break when James Mulley scored.
Kenny Davis was to put Braintree 3-1 ahead with Stefan Payne sent off for Fleet on 70 minutes leaving Liam Daish’s side deep in the Blue Square Bet Premier league bottom three.
Meanwhile, goals from Nathan Collier, two from Lee Noble and one from Charlie Sheringham saw Dartford to a comfortable 4-1 win over Woking at Princes Park.
Welling United further proved their promotion credentials in the Blue Square Bet South with a comfortable 3-0 win at Eastbourne Borough.
Scott Kinch, Anthony Acheampong and Kiernan Hughes-Mason were on target as Jamie Day’s side moved eleven points clear at the top of the league.
Meanwhile, Dover Athletic kept their promotion charge going with a 3-0 win at Chelmsford City with Ricky Modeste, Ben May and Danny Webb on target for Whites.
A late David Ijaha goal saw Tonbridge Angels battle back from a goal down to earn a point against Billericay Town with Bromley losing 1-0 at AFC Hornchurch.
