Noble named as Dynamos second import

It will be a new season but a familiar name that fills the second of the Invicta Dynamos’ two ‘import’ spots in 2012/13.

Head Coach Kevin Parrish today announced that 24 year old Canadian born Justin Noble will return to Gillingham for a second successive year.

Justin Noble first came to prominence as a 16 year old icing for his hometown club, the Georgetown Raiders, in the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League (OPJHL) the other side of the Atlantic in 2004/05.

A year later he would then feature in the Mid-Western Junior Hockey League (MWJHL) where he would appear 93 times for the Guelph Dominators and amass 84 points with 40 goals and 44 assists to his name over two campaigns.

By 2007/08, Noble had then progressed into the NCAA III as he attended the The College at Brockport on a four year course and represented the university on the ice for the duration of his enrolment.

In his debut year he was voted the ‘Most Improved Player’ on the team’s roster and he became a more prominent member of the squad each term eventually captaining the side in his final two seasons. On his graduation, and so departure, in 2011 the determined skater then received a special Coach’s Award in recognition of his efforts in the green and white of Brockport that had seen him feature in 93 games in the NCAA III whilst tallying 54 points.

This record would catch the eye of Dynamos’ Head Coach Kevin Parrish and Noble was tempted to Gillingham in the summer where he would finish as the second highest scorer in Kent with 58 goals and 38 assists leaving him just 4 shy of the 100 point mark after 47 outings.

Now the team’s number 14 is back for another term and he will be hoping to beat his impressive tally this time around to help guide the club up the rankings in the NIHL South Division 1.

Speaking after confirming the signing of Justin Noble, Head Coach Kevin Parrish described the skater as a reliable performer and suggested there was even more to come from the Canadian in his second year with the club.

Parrish said, “In my opinion Justin was one of our most consistent players last season and his work rate was always beyond question. Despite an unsettled start to his time in Kent, with accommodation and other off ice issues threatening to inhibit his displays, he still managed an excellent 96 points and averaged well over a goal a game with 58 strikes from 47 appearances.

“Now, with everything away from the ice sorted and a year in the NIHL already under his belt, I’m sure Justin will have even more to give us to accompany that high level of energy he brings to the rink week in, week out”.

Finally the Dynamos supremo then detailed the importance of his latest re-signing’s attitude when he said, “Justin covers all of the ice during the game and it’s his constant drive and desire to battle from puck drop to final buzzer that makes him an influential figure. His approach to the sport is something I want to see throughout the team this year and hopefully that level of commitment will see us become increasingly competitive in the NIHL in 2012/13”.

Forward Justin Noble is the thirteenth player to sign for the club ahead of the new campaign with further signings to be announced in the coming days.
