No improvement needed for play-offs
No improvement needed for play-offs
Some Charlton fans harbour hopes of making the end of season play-offs, but are those hopes realistic?

If only the Addicks could go on a little little run, they could make the top six, they are still only six points of a play-off place.
What may surprise many is that Karl Robinson’s team ‎do not need to go on a run to make the top six.
Since Christmas, Charlton have won three and drawn three of their six games. If they maintained that form in their remaining 18 games, they would amass a total‎ of 76 points. It would be surprising if that was not good enough for a top six finish.
The major obstacle the Addicks will have to overcome is the upcoming plethora of games. Starting next week, the club will play on five successive Tuesday nights.
‎Saturday’s fixture at AFC Wimbledon will start a run of 11 games in 35 days. Robinson will need to make full use of his squad during this run, and he will be hoping for luck on the injury front.
Charlton will face eleven sides who are currently in the bottom half of the table – including games against all of the current bottom four.
The seven fixtures against top half teams, includes four ‎games against sides in the top six. Three of these four games will be played at The Valley.
The most testing game will be against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on 18 March.
If they can get in contention, the Addicks will fancy their chances of having strong finish.
Their final four games will see them travel to Coventry and Chesterfield, and entertain Gillingham and Swindon at The Valley.
The season could yet have a happy ending.
