Kent’s Jack Nixon will return to the Quattro Group British Supersport Championship this weekend, joining Peter Hickman’s PHR Performance Triumph team at Thruxton.
Nixon began the season in the Supersport class after stepping up from Superstock, but he has been sidelined in recent rounds but now he is reunited with his former teammate after working together in the FHO Racing Team last year.
Nixon said: “I’m really pleased to be joining PHR Performance Triumph Racing. I’m looking forward to be back working with familiar faces and begin learning the Triumph 765 too. It’s been difficult spending most of the season so far off a bike, but I’d like to thank Peter for the opportunity and all of my sponsors for making this happen as well. I can’t wait to get started in Free Practice!”
Hickman said: “I’m really happy to have been able to work out this deal with Jack Nixon to ride the ST 765 RS for the rest of the year. Together with his loyal sponsors, support from Triumph and my own PHR Performance guys, everyone has clubbed together to make it work.
“Jack is a great rider, we were team mates last year at FHO Racing, so it’s fitting to have him join my own little team now. A rider of his quality should not be on the sidelines like he has been for the most part of this year.
“We have a lot of experience with the Triumph from the last couple of years so I’m sure we can give him what he needs to prove how good he is!
“It has also given me the opportunity to give two of my young lads from PHR more experience in the British Championships, although both are 18 years of age they have been doing a great job and to have them here and learning more along the way, while helping Jack achieve what he needs is just perfect.”
