Needham Market striker Sam Newson is keen to have another chance of a trial with Gillingham.
The 23 year old striker was set to have travelled to Priestfield on Monday for a four day trial having scored 29 times for his club in the league this season.
That dream looked to have ended on Saturday when he was stretchered off in the 1-0 loss to Chatham Town, but the striker is remaining positive and hoping Andy Hessenthaler invites him back for another trial:
Newson told Gills Vital:
‘I have had so many tweets from Gillingham fans wishing me well and saying they hope I get better soon so that I can go down there on trial in the near future.
‘I am just hoping that Gillingham will give me another chance at another time when I am fully fit again.’
The Needham Market striker also had some positive news about the injury after an x-ray, tweeting:
“X-ray has come back clear. No long term damage! At last some good news!”
