Bromley and South Premier League Club, The Charcoal F.C. are currently second in the division and have ambitions of becoming a Senior League Club.
Previously, they were a vets team founded in 2020, but have progressed into a Saturday team playing in the BSL while supporting Mental Health and their local community.
They play at the Oaks, the former home of Eltham Town F.C., and they are based in Starbucks Close, Footscray Road. As an example of their aspirations, they have built a stand at the ground over the last two weeks.
On Saturday, the new stand will be unveiled when they host OLAHM in a Premier League match. The match kicks off at 2:30 pm after the ceremony at 2:00.
James Farrell, founder and manager of the club stated “We were formerly a vets team set up purely for middle aged men to help with mental health and combat depression, and we’ve now taken on the challenge of open age, which has never been done before, with the idea of becoming semi-professional in the next two or three seasons.
“The charity work is massive for us, and will continue, and that gave us the platform to build on.”
