Taking a break from their Vanarama National League South campaign, Welling United visit New Salamis in the London Senior Cup.
Their hosts play their games at Haringey Borough’s ground in White Hart Lane, Tottenham and ply their trade in the Isthmian League North where they are currently seventeenth having won once, drawn three and lost four.
On Saturday they played their third away game in a row, losing two-nil at Ipswich Wanderers. Their one victory came two weeks earlier when Derek Asamoah, who has since moved on to Brightlingsea Regent. scored a first half hat-trick in a four-two win.
Only two of their league games have been at home, a one all draw with Bowers and Pitsea, and a three-one defeat against Walthamstow.
Although Danny Bloor won’t be playing a full strength first team, it will still be a strong starting eleven which will include the five substitutes from Saturday who may well be supplemented by Javarn Pitterson, Will Wood and other squad players who need minutes in their legs.
The tie this evening kicks off at 7:45 and the tie will be decided on the night.
