For once it’s a real positive for Gillingham Football Club to have such negativity as everyone tested within the club coming back negative for Covid-19.
A statement released by the club on Wednesday lunchtime will be welcome news after a number of positive tests registered in recent months including striker Dominic Samuel, who is currently injured.
The statement reads:
“The Football Club can confirm that all first-team players and coaching staff have tested negative for COVID-19.”
“The latest round of testing, which was mandatory across the EFL, took place earlier in the week.”
“Steve Evans is preparing his side for the visit of Burton Albion in Sky Bet League 1 this coming Saturday, who recently appointed Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink as their new manager. The game will be available to stream via iFollow.”
With the testing now complete, some three months after the club were lasted tested as a whole back in October, it will be a welcome boost for everyone at Priestfield.
