Wrotham based Motorbase Performance will be targeting wins as they head into the second round of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship this weekend.
Donington Park plays host to the latest round of an already competitive season and this weekend will prove to be no different.
Mat Jackson and Andrew Jordan have both got good records around the circuit and that will hopefully be continued this weekend, as they target victories.
Donington Park has been the scene of success for David Bartrum’s Motorbase squad in past seasons, with Mat Jackson steering the Ford Focus ST to victory here in 2011 and 2012. Likewise, local favourite and 2013 BTCC Champion Andrew Jordan will be hoping for home advantage on the historic Leicestershire circuit as he looks to add to his race win tally and secure a maiden podium in the striking Pirtek Racing Focus.
Having claimed points finishes in all three opening rounds at Brands Hatch just two weeks ago, Motorbase Performance heads into the second weekend of the season in good form sitting in second place in both the overall team standings and independent team standings, with Andrew Jordan and Mat Jackson currently placed 3rd and 5th in the independent drivers’ championship.
Speaking ahead of the weekend, Team Manager Oly Collins, said: “Brands was a good start to the season, however we now want more. We had good pace in the cars at the first round which is great to build on but moving on to Donington the aim is to achieve the podium results that we know we can.
“We’re lying second in the Teams Championship ahead of three Manufacturer Teams which is a credit to the whole team and the people behind the scenes as well as the drivers. It’s a really competitive Championship this year and there is very little between us all at the front despite the fact we’re all learning the new suspension this year. It has all the makings of being a very interesting Championship again this year!”
