As the curtain comes down on the British GT Championship this weekend, Wrotham based Motorbase Performance are targeting a strong final round.
Donington Park is the destination for as the Kent-based squad heads to Leicestershire for the ‘Donington Decider’, 29 GT3 and GT4 cars are set to take part in the final two-hour contest of the season and despite not being in the championship title battle for the first time in five years, David Bartrum’s team will be looking for a strong finish to end its troublesome season on a high note.
Ross Wylie and Phil Dryburgh return to the #8 Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 for the weekend’s action and the Scottish duo are still chasing down an elusive maiden British GT podium as the championship comes to its conclusion on the 2.498-mile former GP circuit.
“It’s been an interesting year;” commented Motorbase Performance Team Boss David Bartrum. “We started the year with the huge accident at Brands Hatch. The boys bounced back from that really well but I feel like we never truly recovered.
“It’s been a hard season and we’ve not managed to get the results that we’ve really wanted but we’re going to give it our all in the last round;” added Bartrum. “The year has passed by so quickly and I think that Ross and Phil have had a bit of a journey this season. We’ve had highs and lows along the way but we’ve made it to the end and we’re ready to go out on a high.”
