Gillingham have announced the loan signing of midfielder James Morton for the remainder of the season.
The 21-yeae-old has moved to the Priesfield from Bristol City and will link up with teammate Robbie Cundy who joined the club earlier in the month.
Morton will be available for the game on Friday evening in front of the Sky cameras when they host Lincoln City. He has been allocated squad number six for his time at the Gills.
Earlier this season Morton was out on loan at Grimsby Town where he played nine times.
Gills boss Steve Evans was delighted to get Morton into the club, he told the official website: “James is a very talented lad. He has signed a four-year contract at Bristol City so it demonstrates how highly thought of he is there.
“The lad has a brilliant left foot and gives us some wonderful balance in the middle of the pitch.
“Our supporters will love this lad and I am delighted he has chosen us over two clubs currently in the top 6 of League 1.”
