The Invicta Dynamos made it the perfect weekend coming away from Milton Keynes with four points after winning the league and cup double header.
With the Thunder permitted to play only so many fixtures at home throughout the season, it was decided that the winner would take away two points in both the NIHL South league and cup.
That wasn’t in much doubt either with the Dynamos coming back to Kent with a 13-3 victory.
There really was only going to be one winner on the small rink with the Dynamos racing into a 4-1 lead at the end of the first period with Shaun Wild and Marek Nahlik putting the visitors two in front.
Despite the home side clawing one back, the Dynamos ended the period strongly and there was enough time for Juraj Huska to bag his first of the night, whilst Chris Cooke scored his first goal in a Dynamos shirt.
If the first period was comfortable, the second proved to be even better for the Dynamos as they put six more goals past the Thunder netminder.
Captain Anthony Leone made it 5-1 early in the period with Dan Fudger getting himself on the scoresheet too.
It was then down to Callum Fowler to add his name to the tally as he scored either side of two more from Huska who completed his hat-trick.
At 10-1 up, the Dynamos took their foot off the pedal and saw the home side claw two back to make it 10-3 at the end of the second period.
The third period saw the Dynamos cruise home to victory with Nicky Lewis, Wild with his second and Danny Hammond all get themselves a goal with the home side unable to see their way past Davey Jackson who’d replaced Chris Douglas in the Dynamos goal towards the end of the second.
Victory sees the Dynamos pull level with league leaders Chelmsford Chieftains, whilst the two points in the cup sees them go to the summit.
With no fixture to play on Sunday, the Dynamos complete their fixtures for 2013 on Sunday 22nd when they entertain the Streatham Redskins at the Silver Blades Ice Bowl in Gillingham with face off at 5:15pm.
