Wrotham’s Jack Mitchell will make the step up to the British GT Championship for the 2016, as he joins Macmillan Racing.
The team will also make its debut in the British GT4 Championship racing as Generation AMR Macmillan Racing, where he will be joined by fellow teenage driver Matty Graham.
They will be behind the wheel of a 2016-spec Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT4 featuring all-new seven–speed gearbox and aerodynamics after joining forces with David Appleby Engineering whose Aston Martin Racing Partner Team will also field a second entry for Generation AMR SuperRacing.
Macmillan’s driver line-up is a strong one thanks to a mix of junior sportscar and single-seater experience. With Jack Mitchell leading the way for Kent with his experience of sportscars.
Mitchell was Ginetta Junior champion in 2014 before contesting mulitple rounds of last season’s Renault Clio Cup and Mini Challenge, while former world karting champion Graham has entered Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and NEC over the past two seasons.
Speaking about making the step-up to the British GT Championship, a delighted Mitchell said: “This is such a great chance for me.
“GT Racing is where I want to build my career. We had such a great test last week and I am looking forward to working with Matty. The whole team is really experienced and I am sure we can achieve success together.”
The team has secured commercial partnerships with Dickies Workwear, SuperCar Finance and IWI Watches.
