Gillingham will make changes for Tuesday night’s EFL Trophy clash against Millwall at The New Den.
Justin Edinburgh will look to use as much of his squad as possible as he nurses his side through having lost 2-0 at AFC Wimbledon in the league on Saturday.
Both Scott Wagstaff (calf) or Bradley Dack (hamstring) are unlikely to be risked with the former having missed the game at the weekend, whilst the latter only lasted a matter of minutes before having to come off on Saturday.
Cody McDonald (heel) and Ryan Jackson (hip) won’t be risked either as they join the likes of Aaron Morris, Lee Martin and Jonathan Bond on the sidelines.
However, the signings of both Chris Herd and Frank Nouble on Monday afternoon have come at the right time and the pair will be hoping to be included for the clash.
With the rules of the competition preventing manager Justin Edinburgh from making wholesale changes, the Gillingham boss is going to send his side out looking to win the game:
“I will put a team out that I feel can go and get a result. We have to abide by the rules, in terms of players who have played in the last game or the most games, but we will abide by it.”
A sparse crowd is expected for the game with fans not having bought into the Checkatrade Trophy.
