Jose Riga had his troops in at 11.30 for the pre-match preparation. The session started with a briefing on Millwall, followed by the pre-match meal.
Finally, Riga gave the team a collective and individual briefing. The new coach’s thoroughness will mean a heavy workload for Brett the analyst.
Riga used the same 18 players as he did for the Huddersfield game but Bradley Pritchard came into the starting line-up in place of Reza Ghoochannejhad, who dropped to the bench.
The Den pitch was in superb condition and it was a lovely sunny day.
The game was not an edge of the seat thriller but Charlton show far more movement under Jose Riga.
The Addicks had the best of things in the first half though chances were at a premium.
The second half opened up a little but again, neither keeper had a serious save to make.
Riga will pleased with the performance but his team need to be more clinical in front of goal and start winning games.
