The Huddersfield Daily Examiner is reporting that Charlton have beaten off a host of clubs in the race to secure the signature of Coventry midfielder, Franck Moussa.
As well as Huddersfield, Millwall, Barnsley, Nottingham Forest, Wolves and Birmingham were keen to sign the Brussels born player, who will be 25 later this month.
Moussa made his name at Southend and went to Coventry after an unsuccessful spell at Leicester, and a short stay at Forest, where he failed to make a first team appearance.
Moussa is believed to have turned down a move to St Andrews in favour of a switch to The Valley.
The Addicks will be keen to finalise the move quickly and have Moussa available for the weekend trip to Belgium.
The club will also hope to have signed one or two other new faces ahead of the Stayen Cup competition.
