Invicta Dynamos Head Coach Kevin Parrish has secured his second returnee of the summer by re-signing 20 year old Scottish all-rounder Adam McNicoll for the upcoming 2015/16 campaign.
McNicoll first arrived in Gillingham in the summer of 2013 but despite a string of promising performances he would swiftly return home to Dundee cutting short his Silver Blades stay.
His absence would prove to be far from permanent however as the Scot opted on a return to Kent ahead of 2014/15 and became a prominent figure in the Mos side that lifted the NIHL Southern Cup in April.
During the campaign McNicoll was near ever present – missing just one of his team’s 60 fixtures in four competitions and covering a range of positions across numerous lines.
The Scot proved a valuable asset to his coach by bringing his speed and energy to the attack whilst covering just as efficiently at the back when suspensions and departures left his side’s rear guard diminished.
He would finish the season having found the net 10 times and claimed 14 assists for a total of 24 points but his value to the team was even greater than his haul with the skater’s effort and dedication securing him the respect of the supporters.
Now it is those very same supporters that have drawn the former Dundee player back south of the border for another season after the 20 year old penned a contract ahead of 2015/16.
Speaking on his return to the Mos, Adam McNicoll said, “I’d like to thank the fans for making this an easy decision.”
“Their support has been fantastic and helped me feel very welcome at the club. Last season we were able to thank them with the NIHL Southern Cup and it would be great to be in the hunt for more again this year.”
“I’m already looking forward to getting back underway in September!”
Meanwhile his Head Coach Kevin Parrish added, “It’s great to have Adam back for another term. He played on every line last season in almost every position and he never once looked out of place.”
“He brings a great work rate and determination to the team and the fact he featured in 59 games shows how committed he is to this club”.
Parrish continued to say, “Adam will predominantly play on the blue line in 2015/16 but his flexibility means he’s more than capable of moving forward should he need to.”
“He’s still only 20 and I’ve no doubt he will prove a key figure in the new season as he continues to mature even further as a hockey player.”
“I look forward to working with him again very soon and am sure the fans will be delighted to see him return”.
Adam McNicoll joins fellow countryman Mark McGill on the roster with further player announcements to follow in the coming weeks.
