The Invicta Dynamos have announced that netminder Mark McGill has left the team with immediate effect claiming that the accommodation provided by the club did not meet his requirements.

23 year old shot stopper Mark McGill re-signed for the Mos in the summer having joined the club for the second half of 2014/15 and made an instant impression in Gillingham. However, after just six appearances this season, the Scot will now return home having said the accommodation provided by the organisation was not adequate.

Speaking on the departure, club spokesman Andy Mason refuted those suggestions saying, “We’re all very disappointed that Mark has chosen to move on so early in the season and I know the supporters will be equally frustrated. When Mark signed in the summer we agreed to provide him accommodation and I believe we have lived up to that promise.

“Mark was initially happy staying with a teammate in separate double rooms within housing provided by a supporter but recently expressed an interest in being relocated and so was offered the remaining single room at the team flat occupied by Eriks Ozollapa and Ondrej Zosiak. Despite both imports being happy with the accommodation, Mark was not satisfied with the remaining room and would not accept the alternative arrangements.

“As a club we have a finite budget and I hope the supporters will appreciate that we are simply unable to offer more than is already at our disposal. We believe we have exceeded reasonable expectations at our level of the game with the offer of accommodation and are not in the position to go beyond that and seek alternative housing. We have to budget within our means and so, regrettably, Mark has made the decision to leave the Dynamos with immediate effect”.

Head Coach Kevin Parrish will now begin the search for another netminder as the Mos head into a double header weekend of NIHL Southern Cup games with the first away to the London Raiders on Saturday before a home clash with the Chelmsford Chieftains on Sunday.
